PostSubject: The little differences...   Wed May 26, 2010 12:31 pm

well... im going to tell you a few points of my general basic strategy

i know some don't agree to all points because they think it would be stupid to do that... but have they ever beaten me...?

Eco
i normally dont have most money of all in the stats but i never run out of money because i lose much smaller amounts of troops then the other (normally).
So i normally go for a small defensable eco.
i dont think i have to write how to build an eco here.

Deff
it comes automaticly with eco...most people use this eco with 3 rows apples in front of granary atm (iceberg/nerox.. just 2 guys i played in last time) and i must admit they do much money ... but i also see that they waste place as hell!
e.g yui builds on a normal volcano map his granary behind his keep (the place all others build their stockpile), same goes for kronik.
if you think your enemy is good and might bring you into defense... then defend yourself and not just send your king to give up!
i tell you a few points how to:

- if you can make walls in your eco to make lines between food/iron and candles then do it, but don't forget to build a gate between them

-do not build dragon harpoons if your opponents hatch a dragon egg then just send a like 30 xbows in your land (10 on keep, 10 to granary, 10 to iron and if necessary a few to hovels) some players like judgement day or shady build stone towers and put their xbows on them but they have special gaps in their eco for them. so its not so easy to learn this and the use is not that great

-most players are to late with destroying their barracks and built it in a line back. As soon you see you cannot defend your barrack any longer built it a line backwards.

- dont think you can defend yourself with stone towers. you should built like 2 normal siege tower setts and then a stone tower with bows.

- try to kill the enemys trebs from the side or something like that.

- When you have a few units in your backwards lines, built your barrack at the front again, to attack the enemy troops from the side again.

Fight
well this goes for artus:

- dont see your army as different divisions. See it as ONE

- and so move your army forward as ONE, not as 70% of all players do, move one sett after another forward

- safe your setts at the front with x bows a bit back, if the other uses maces.

- DO NOT use to much maces, just not worth

-you can't win a game if you dont attack. So if you dont like rush, then built like two setts of like 50 xbows (the xbows should be atleast on 3 different towers which have a bit space between them) and attack from right and left side. Your merlin must follow this group.

- if you do that... be sure you can safe at least 30 xbows in both setts if the other uses parci. (sounds impossible? You dont have to manage that if you have your own attack style

- every xbow which falls on the ground... you delete and rebuild

- you can use bigger groups of trebs if you want that the other has to kill them with maces which you should kill before they reach them (yeah even if gawain is there you should kill them before they reach them.)or with parci then attack him with merlin

- don't built to many towers... you know? they don't attack! Very Happy

fine i think i told you most of the general basics and also a few things not many know... maybe if i have to leave shl for a longer period i will tell you a few things nobody except me knows Razz
but why should i, if no other top players does it

How can you build the granary behind the keep instead of the stockpile?
I mean in a normal volcano you don't have enought space around to build food or ? :o

Yea, i've seen people put the granary back there. To me, that seems pointless. Even with the 3 rows of apple, i have sufficient room for a defense. If my enemy gets through 2 lines of my defense, i will be out of gold and have no way of winning except siding, so why should i build my granary in the back. Its much easier and faster to place it in the front.

Of course, i agree with everything combat related, especially "move your army as one". That one's killer.

yep, if you have no troops on field and the other has your barrack it's over ... there's no use to treb it then ... except you have a really stupid player as enemy

but if you delete it in time like bounty said you can defend quite a long time without trouble.
